Following of from the fine flinty 2005, this single vineyard Chardonnay from the cool township of Woori Yallock is immediately appealing. Facing south south west, this site is perfectly suited to Pinot and Chardonnay. This wine encompasses a lovely combination of citrus and nutty characters that contrasts fine and tight with weight and length. This wine sees around 35% new wood and no MLF. Coming from 2006, this wine is settling down into a classic Yarra Chard that will unfold over the next 5 years.
- Vibrant, medium straw
- Grapefruit, Peach stone fruit and pear with underlying minerality and nuttiness. This fine fruit is supported by a restrained oak that lifts and carries the fruit. Good balance and integration
- The palate shows as the nose suggests, with fine sour fruits and a roasted nuttiness. Long and fine and well as full and tight. A complex suphide edge makes this wine most attractive. Will evolve over the next years.
